Postpartum
Postpartum care is highly recommended a few days after labor and is important for the next three months. Many of the symptoms that arose during pregnancy remain after birth, and many more can result from labor and delivery. During this happy, but sleepless time, your body craves rest, relaxation and stress reduction. Stress over long periods of time builds up abnormal levels of toxins and chemicals, which can be transferred to the baby via breast milk. When infants become aware that their caregiver is stressed, they often become upset themselves.
Two thirds of women experience postpartum depression that generally occurs between two weeks and two months after the baby is born. Stress is a contributing factor to the onset and intensity of this depression. We work closely with mental health professionals for serious cases of depression. Patients who pursue our treatments can avoid major depression after birth and instead are able to enjoy this special time with their newborns.
